Thursday

Thursday is a great day for my family, because it means our three day weekend starts tomorrow. We love having three days off to play, and have fun with our kids. We have a backyard pool. Infact that was what the determining factor of buying this house was my husband, and kids had always wanted a backyard pool. We live in the desert, to give you an example this whole week has been in the 100s it is very hot here in the Summers. At the beginning of the summer the liner of our pool broke in the corners so we had to drain the pool and we took a family vote, either a new pool liner which is when all said and done about $3500.00 with it being installed, or take the boat out more and have more family trips this summer. Everybody voted for boating and family trips, because we live 5 minutes from the public pool, and they could go there to see there friends. Well guess what... now that the weather is really hot, and we are having company coming twice in August, my kids have changed there mind.... imagine that, they miss being able to go in there backyard and jump in there pool whenever they want, so we have decided to buy the new pool liner, and enjoy our pool for the rest of the Summer. We picked out the liner yesterday, and everything will be installed by August 3rd so we will be able to have some fun pool partys, and enjoy the pool for the rest of the summer. My husband just built us a big storage shed half office for my home business, and half storage which we greatly needed to get the lawn mower, and other stuff out of our garage. The office side has a window over looking the deep end of the pool, and is all insulated , sheet rocked, textered, painted, and carpeted so it is very nice. I can be on the phone in there working, and watching my kids swim which was the whole plan of the design a win win situation. my daughter is in the look at me stage, she always wants me to watch her swim, and do tricks in the water so it is perfect for that, and then I can be making money while she swims. What mom doesnt want to make money while there kids play, Perfect right. The office can also be used for changing clothes when there friends come over. the only thing we are missing is an outside shower, and toilet so that they dont track the water in through the house. So we will work on that for next summer your backyard can be a vacation paradise. we have a outdoor fire pit as well, and our kids love to have night campfires at the end of a long day, and roast marshmallows. what great childhood memories they will have.
